Marjory Stoneman Douglas officially named Keith Hindsley as the new head coach of the varsity football team.
Hindsley takes over for Quentin Short, who left to become the head coach at Piper High School.
A native of South Florida, Hindsley played college football at the University of Louisiana Monroe before getting into coaching at 26 and taking American Heritage in Delray to the State Championship in 2015.
“I think it was a community base in Parkland that I enjoyed,” Hindsley said. “The consistency of the kids is what really put me interested and getting back on the map. The past head coach did such a good job of keeping it together. I’m really excited to get rolling.”
Hindsley also had the chance to coach Houston Texans running back Devin Singletary, as well as other professional and college football players.
He takes over a program that won 24 games in the past four years and had their first playoff victory in 14 seasons in 2022.
