Marjory Stoneman Douglas’s defensive end, Williams Ross, officially committed to playing college football at Florida State University.
“It’s a relief to commit after such a crazy season, Ross said. “I wanted to play somewhere with a great football culture like FSU.”
Ross began playing football for John Creek Gladiators in second grade and then transferred to Marjory Stoneman Douglas for his junior year. In his first year with the Eagles, he played for Head Coach Quentin Short and helped lead the Eagles to a postseason appearance and win over Santaluces High School in the first round.
As a senior, he was coached by Kieth Hindley and starred on a defense that pitched a shutout and also allowed only six points against Coral Glades.
Before college, Ross hopes to improve his hand and footwork and control his emotions. He will compete for a team that finished fifth in the college football rankings and competed against Georgia in the Orange Bowl.
