The Original Florida Pokers and the Parkland Pokers have officially announced a strategic alliance beginning with Fall tryouts for 8u-12u in late June.
Original Florida Poker’s owner, Lenny Roberts, says this represents a significant step forward in their goal of providing the best possible opportunities for young athletes to develop and thrive in the sport they love.
“By joining forces, we can ensure our mission statement, which was created in 1990 by our founder, Mike Roberts, is sustained for generations to come,” Roberts said. 35 years later, that mission statement still rings true today. Baseball is our name…Life Education is our game.”
Greg Raley, President of Parkland Pokers, says combining the strengths of the Original Florida Pokers and the Parkland Pokers allows them to leverage their respective resources and expertise to benefit the entire baseball community.
The program boasts a combined 500+ players sent off to play to earn a degree in college and another four dozen to professional baseball, including 11 active professionals (three players in the big leagues and four others in AAA).
