This is a summary of crimes and other Parkland incidents through April 29, 2024, compiled through our joint effort with the Broward Sheriff’s Office to share updates with residents.
Fraud
A victim of Fraud – All Other was reported on 04/25/2024. An adult male reported that an unknown person(s) opened an unauthorized Verizon account in his name without his permission and accumulated $371.40 in charges.
A victim of Fraud—All Other was reported on 04/23/2024. The victim entered a fraud scam and lost an undisclosed amount of money.
Theft
A victim of Theft—All Other was reported on 04/26/2024. The total estimated loss was $1,111. The victim advised that he came to hang out at the park after work and fell asleep near the West Field. When he woke up, his backpack was missing.
Criminal Mischief
Bell Parkland was the victim of Criminal Mischief and was reported on 04/23/2024. An adult male entered the back side of the clubhouse/ pool area and pulled down lights, ultimately destroying the property.
Property Damage
A victim of Property Damage was reported on 04/25/2024. The gate arm exit struck the car windshield, cracking it.
Suspicious Incident
A victim of a Suspicious Incident was reported on 04/26/2024. A mother was shopping with her 4-year-old daughter & advised that a Hispanic male appeared to be following her & her child around the store. The mother & child left the store without making contact with the subject.
Information
Information was reported on 04/26/2024. The caller advised that he received a text message from an unknown phone number that stated, “She’s getting big. Good ole Heron Heights.” The caller advised that is where his 8-year-old daughter goes to school, but he does not know anyone who would make a joke or play a prank like that.
Information was reported on 04/26/2024. Unknown person(s) left bicycle skid marks on the epoxy-surfaced ground under the pavilion, and tracks were observed on the pavilion’s epoxy-coated floor.
Information was reported on 04/27/2024. The juvenile sent a text to 911 regarding a message she received on Snapchat. The juvenile advised she received a friend request on the app and thought it was one of her friends, so she accepted the request. The juvenile said the other party began messaging her and said that he was a 15-year-old boy and began asking the juvenile for nude photos.
Lost Property
A victim of Lost Property was reported on 04/28/2024. The subject lost his wallet while dropping off one of his friend’s children in the Bell Parkland community. The subject believes the wallet fell out of his pocket when he got out of the car.
Arrests
Hyde, Saige Morgan, 23, was arrested on a charge of Dui Alcohol Or Drugs 1 Offense at 7351 N State Road 7 on 04/23/2024.
