The Broward County Sheriff’s Office in Parkland responded to various incidents between December 10 and December 16, 2024. Below is a detailed account of the incidents and arrests handled by local law enforcement.

Fraud – Pressure Washing Scam
Date/Time: December 6, 2024, 1:00 PM – December 10, 2024, 11:59 AM
Location: Parkland, FL
Details: A resident reported being scammed by a pressure washing company allegedly damaging roofs to charge for repairs. Estimated loss: $1,000.

Battery and Burglary
Date/Time: December 10, 2024, 11:22 AM
Location: Parkland, FL
Details: An adult female reported a burglary conveyance battery, while an adult male reported a battery. Both victims wish to press charges. Suspect vehicles: white Honda Civic and white BMW 430i. Surveillance footage was collected.

Baker Act
Date/Time: December 10, 2024, 10:15 PM – 10:24 PM
Location: Liberty Park, Parkland, FL
Details: A man was admitted under the Baker Act after sending self-harm text messages and being located at Liberty Park. Transported to Fort Lauderdale Behavioral Health.

Firearms Turn-In

Location: Parkland, FL
Details: Two firearms were turned in as part of a gun buy-back program.

Fire – Residential Roof
Date/Time: December 11, 2024, 2:31 PM
Location: Parkland, FL
Details: A contractor using a blow torch for roofing repairs caused a small fire. Coral Springs Fire Rescue contained the fire. No injuries were reported.

Medical Incident

Details: A resident reported seeing an unknown individual near their backyard after being alerted by barking dogs and surveillance footage.

Violation of Domestic Violence Restraining Order

Details: A spouse violated a domestic violence injunction by arriving at the victim’s residence. The suspect fled before law enforcement arrived.
