Building Champions: McCrimmon Honored for Key Role in Eagles’ Success

There are many components to building a successful high school baseball team, and having a strong coaching staff is essential.

While head coach Todd Fitz-Gerald leads the program, the Eagles benefit from several impactful assistant coaches, including Will McCrimmon, who was recently named the High School BCA Region 3 Assistant Coach of the Year.

“Being a part of this program for so long has been an absolute honor, and I’m so grateful for every new year I get to be here,” McCrimmon said. “I’m nothing without Coach Fitz and the players who make it such a special place to coach.”

McCrimmon, who has been with the Eagles for the past seven years, serves as the first base and outfield coach, as well as the Head Coach of the junior varsity team.

Marjory Stoneman Douglas had yet another historic season, winning their fifth straight State Championship and capturing their fourth National Championship in the last five years.

The Eagles finished the season 31-2, with nearly their entire senior class signing to play college baseball. Several underclassmen have also committed to college programs, while former players continue to shine at both the collegiate and professional levels.
