Two local college students are giving back to their hometown by offering summer basketball sessions this summer at Terramar Park in Parkland.
Hustle Sports Training, founded by Dylan Stettner, a Florida State University student, and Michael Elahi, a student at Florida International University, is launching it on Friday, June 14, with one free session.
The sessions run from 9:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. every Saturday, and are open to boys and girls ages 7 to 14. Attendees can expect a fun-filled day of basketball skill development, team competitions, games like dodgeball and capture the flag, music, giveaways, and pizza.
Dylan and Michael emphasize the importance of serving as role models for the next generation of Parkland athletes, as they grew up enjoying and learning lessons from competitive sports.
“Growing up in Parkland, sports and summer camps weren’t just activities—they were the foundation of lifelong friendships and unforgettable memories,” said Stettner, a Marjory Stoneman Douglas graduate who played four years of varsity basketball. “Now, we want to recreate that same experience for the next generation.”
The free grand opening event marks the beginning of a full summer of weekend sessions, which will run through August 10. Registration is available at HustleSportsTraining.com, and participants should use the code “FREE” at checkout to secure their spot for the first session. All sessions after June 14 will have a fee of $75.
Hustle Sports Training specializes in working with kids ages 6 to 15 and offers individual and group training as well as PE partnerships. The team is made up of local college athletes who are dedicated to creating a positive, skill-building environment for young players.
