Just minutes after an “armed and dangerous” man robbed a Coconut Creek bank, he changed clothes and brazenly entered a Margate credit union, the FBI announced Monday.
On June 25, the unidentified man robbed the PNC Bank branch at 6990 North State Road 7, in Coconut Creek, about 10:20 a.m., according to FBI investigators.
“A robber entered the bank, displayed a weapon, and demanded money from a bank employee,” Michael D. Leverock, Special Agent with the FBI’s Miami Field Office, and Jim Marshall, Public Information Officer with the FBI’s Miami Field Office, said in a media release.
No one was hurt during the robbery. The FBI declined to release the amount of money taken.
Following the robbery at PNC Bank, investigators believe the same robber changed jackets and entered a We Florida Financial Credit Union at 1982 N. State Road 7, in Margate, about 10:47 a.m., according to the FBI.
“He briefly stood in line, then departed the credit union without ever approaching the tellers’ counter,” Leverock and Marshall said.
The suspect should be considered armed and dangerous, according to the FBI.
