Last December, when Jessica Oster was visiting Las Vegas, she fell in love with her experience at Blo Blow Dry Bar, whose motto is: “Our team does one thing, and we do it very well.”
This time, they did it so well, that Jessica and her husband decided to bring the brand home to Coral Springs.
“I loved the experience, the concept; loved everything about it,” said Jessica, who grew up in Plantation, and since 1986, has been living in the Coral Springs area.
A graduate of Piper High School, Jessica met her husband, Chris while they were both working at the Coral Springs Auto Mall, she was an accountant, and he was the service director. Now, the two are franchise partners at North America’s original blow dry bar.
After being a stay-at-home-mom to their five-year-old son, Tyler, while doing accounting work from home for several years, Jessica said she really wanted to get back out into the community.
On October 11, the “bar” adorned with its signature lush white chairs, sleek stainless steel and pops of pink, opened its doors.
Conveniently located in the Turtle Crossing Shopping Center, the one-stop-beauty shop serves clients in Coconut Creek, Coral Springs, and the East side of Parkland. Jessica said they’re in a great shopping plaza and receive most of their foot traffic from Target, Club Pilates, and the Juice Kitchen.
“For the everyday women walking through here, it’s a great concept,” she said.
The franchise boasts seven signature styles, from “high society” and “pillow talk” to “red carpet.” The original blow dry bar that started it all claims to have a “blo” for everyone.
“Anyone who comes in should be able to see any of our stylists and get the same signature look,” said Jessica, who explained they recruited an array of license stylists, and all were required to pass a seven-day “blo you” training course.
In addition to blowouts, the bar provides other services, like extensions, and “blo on the go,” where stylists will travel to a home or hotel.
The bar can even be rented for parties or special events. They also have make-up artists on hand to provide a natural glow or the perfect look, no matter the occasion.
Blo is the original blow dry bar as well as and the world’s largest franchise, with 131 locations across three countries. There are nine other “bars” in Florida, and two more are opening soon, but Jessica wanted to be the one to bring the brand to Broward County— particularly Coral Springs.
“I think the community we’re in focuses on self-care, and we offer affordable hair and make-up services for everything from wedding styles to natural looks,” she said.
Blo is centrally located, and open seven days a week. They accept walk-ins, as well as online reservations, and are open early.
Jessica said they are preparing some unique looks for the holidays, so stay tuned for the release. Currently, Blo is offering incentives to the community, such as $10 off for new clients until November 26, which brings a $45 blow dry down to $35.
Blo Blow Dry Bar Coral Springs is located at 4348 State Road 7. Hours are Monday through Saturday, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. They are open as early as 7 a.m. and as late as 8 p.m. by appointment only.
