The Broward County Hall of Fame is getting a special addition, with Marjory Stoneman Douglas baseball coach Todd Fitz-Gerald and all six of the Eagles’ state championship teams set to be inducted.

MSD has built one of the greatest dynasties in high school sports history since 2021. Along with winning six consecutive state championships, the Eagles have captured four national titles and compiled a remarkable 172-17 record during that stretch.

The program has also produced several players who have been selected in the MLB Draft directly out of high school. That list grew this year when Gio Rojas became the first player in program history to be selected in the first round. The Eagles have also consistently sent their graduating seniors on to play college baseball.

For Fitz-Gerald, the induction adds another honor to a decorated coaching career. He has won eight state championships as a head coach, with his first coming at American Heritage High School. He was also part of MSD’s 2016 state and national championship team before leading the Eagles through their historic run of six straight titles this decade.
