Last year, Marjory Stoneman Douglas’s Dance Marathon raised $27K for the Children’s Miracle Network.
Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School is gearing up for its annual Dance Marathon, a high-energy event.
Taking place at more than 300 colleges, high schools, and even some middle schools around the country, the nationwide event shares one common goal—to support Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.
In South Florida, Nicklaus Children’s Hospital is the recipient.
The six-hour event will take place on Saturday, March 15, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. inside the Marjory Stoneman Douglas gym. Participants are encouraged to arrive early, and check-in will begin at 9:30 a.m.
More than just a dance party, the event symbolizes the 12-hour shifts of nurses who work tirelessly to save lives. To keep spirits high and energy levels up, each hour of the marathon will feature a different theme, inviting dancers to dress up accordingly.
In addition to non-stop dancing, attendees can enjoy games, food, and fun activities throughout the day. A silent auction will also be held, featuring a variety of exciting prizes.
Last year’s event raised more than $27,000.
Registration for the Dance Marathon is $20 per participant and can be purchased online at this link.
