The Marjory Stoneman Douglas Eagle Regiment is excited to begin its new year.
As they prepare for the upcoming season, Band Director Steve Rivero announced there will be an informational meeting for any incoming freshmen from Westglades or Coral Springs Middle or returning students interested in joining the marching band.
Held Thursday, Jan. 19, at 7 p.m., Rivero reminded all members that their participation in the competition season and the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day performance will be mandatory. The meeting will be held at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School at 5901 Pine Island Road.
In 2022, the Eagle Regiment won its second straight State Championship. They also made an impressive showing at the Bands of America Orlando Regional Championship, finishing in fifth place.
As the new year arrived, the Eagle Regiment had the opportunity to kick off 2023 with a bang by participating in the New Year’s Day Parade in London, a once-in-a-lifetime experience for the talented musicians.
