Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School has reason to celebrate, as it was recently one of 14 Broward Public Schools (BCPS) to be recognized among the best in the nation by the U.S. News & World Report in their 2023 edition of Best High Schools.
U.S. News & World Report placed Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School as the 89th best in the state and 1,347th place nationally in its newly released High School rankings.
Headlining Broward representatives on the top High School’s list are Pompano Beach High School (25th place) and McFatter Technical High School (32nd place), dominating the state rankings and cracking the top 2.5% of all ranked schools in the United States.
Cypress Bay High School and Atlantic Technical High School also secured the top 4% nationally while securing spots within Florida’s top 50 high schools.
U.S. News & World Report evaluated nearly 25,000 public high schools across all 50 states and the District of Columbia for this annual rankings that are determined based on six main factors: college readiness, college curriculum breadth, state assessment proficiency, state assessment performance, underserved student performance, and graduation rate.

- Sheridan Technical High School: State Rank 64, National Rank 981
- Broward Virtual School: State Rank 112, National Rank 1,745
- West Broward High School: State Rank 116, National Rank 1,805
- Cooper City High School: State Rank 123, National Rank 1,908
- Fort Lauderdale High School: State Rank 132, National Rank 1,973
- Nova High School: State Rank 144, National Rank 2,216
- Western High School: State Rank 155, National Rank 2,475
- Lauderhill 6-12: State Rank 208, National Rank 3,717
- Everglades High School: State Rank 236, National Rank 4,347
- Charles W. Flanagan High School: State Rank 244, National Rank 4,555
