Marjory Stoneman Douglas senior Gio Rojas continued to accumulate awards with yet another honor.
After previously being named the top pitcher in the state following the Gatorade Player of the Year award, Rojas was recognized as Baseball America’s top pitcher of the year, featuring all players in the country. He also had the chance to compete in the East vs West All-American Classic at Chase Field in Phoenix.Â
Rojas has won two State Championships with the Eagles. He is coming off a historic season in which he went 12-0 and pitched to an ERA of .72. The hard-throwing left-hander also struck out 128 batters in 68 innings and allowed only 35 hits.
Rojas is a University of Miami Commit and will be draft eligible following his senior year with the Eagles as MSD looks for its sixth straight State Title.Â
