County Commissioner Michael Udine was recognized for his work advocating and advancing Broward County’s legislative agenda during the 2020 Legislative Sessions.
The Florida Association of Counties (FAC) recognized Commissioner Udine, who represents Parkland, as a Presidential Advocate for his work during the 2020 Legislative Session.
“As a County Commissioner, I believe an important part of my role is to advocate on behalf of our residents on the State and Federal level,” said Udine. “I continue to push for policy that benefits our County.”
Commissioner Udine received the designation during the Association’s virtual Annual Business Meeting.
FAC Immediate Past President and Leon County Commissioner Nick Maddox said it is our duty as commissioners to stand up for our community to fight to preserve the unique aspects of where we live, work, and play.
“This responsibility is only heightened during the Legislative Session where hundreds of bills are heard that directly impact that quality of life,” said Commissioner Maddox.
For more than 85 years, the FAC has represented the diverse interests of Florida’s counties, emphasizing the importance of protecting home rule – the concept that the government closest to the people governs best.
