It was a matchup featuring a lot of local talent in Parkland with the Original Florida Pokers facing the X Team in the round of 16 of the Perfect Game BCS Championship on Sunday.
The Pokers, who had won the last two titles, lost 5-4. However, they featured Jack Rostock on the mound while a pair of players from the MSD varsity baseball team were in the starting lineup, with Jake Rizzo and Cade Raley, along with pitcher Carter McGuinn. X Team featured Santiago Rincon, Abraham Halaoui, and Matthew Toback.
Rostock, an NC State Commit, was making his second start of the tournament. He previously pitched two scoreless innings in an 18-1 win to begin pool play. Rostock would go on to allow three runs in three innings while also striking out three.
Cade Raley had an RBi hit along with a base knock from Rizzo. Raley would knock in five runs during the tournament, with Rizzo plating runs in the opening two games. McGuinn also earned a win in his start, in which he allowed two runs in 3.2 innings.
Rincoln and Toback each had RBIs for X Team in their win over the Pokers. Toback previously had three games in the tournament of knocking in at least two runs, along with two games of driving in one. Halaoui also had an RBI earlier in the tournament.
