Summertime festivities remain in full swing at the Parkland Recreation and Enrichment Center.
After a Saturday night of “Movies in the Gym” on June 30, head back to the PREC on July 7, for a family fun evening at Parkchella, an event that will bring the Coachella Valley to Parkland.
Parkland City Spokesperson Todd DeAngelis is excited to offer this unique event to the city, as it will be a “spinoff” of California’s popular Coachella. “It’s a place where music, art, food, and fun converge,” he said.
The free event, open for all ages, will feature art, crafts, a beauty bar, games, entertainment, and special-featured live music by South Florida-based DJ Mike Locke, the funk and pop original Miami multicultural group REMYZ (6:00 pm), and the South Florida premier group Wonderama (7:45 pm). Additionally, there will be complimentary tie-dye t-shirts, glitter tattoos, and face-painting.
Attendees will also be able to enjoy lawn games like corn hole and Jenga. There will also be a ferris wheel – encouraged to be ridden before visiting the food trucks. Also, enjoy food provided by MOD Pizza, Reggae Beets, Gene’s Joint, Monster Cone, Ipek’s Wikked Kitchen, and BC Tacos.
Don’t miss Parkchella July 7, from 5:30 p.m. – 9:30 p.m. at the PREC located at 10555 Trails End, Parkland, FL 33076.
