The Broward County Sheriff’s Office in Parkland responded to various incidents between February 3 and 9, 2026.
Incidents
• Information Report — Parkland
A resident initially believed jewelry had been stolen by a contractor who remodeled a bathroom. It was later determined a known individual was responsible, and the reporting party declined prosecution.
• Burglary — 16000 Loxahatchee Road
An unknown suspect stole a John Deere mini-excavator from a business property between Jan. 31 and Feb. 2. The investigation remains active.
• Domestic Disturbance (Non-Crime)
Deputies responded to a dispute between a mother and daughter over tax documents. The daughter obtained the documents and left. No crime occurred.
• Domestic Disturbance (Non-Crime)
Deputies responded to a 911 hang-up and determined a married couple was involved in a verbal argument. No injuries were reported, and no charges were filed.
• Information Report — Neighborhood Dispute
A homeowner received a letter from a neighbor complaining that her teenage son was riding an e-bike and setting off fireworks.
• Domestic Disturbance (Non-Crime)
A caller reported her mother did not want her to leave home due to needing assistance after knee surgery. The caller agreed to stay until help arrived.
• Information Report — Suspicious Incident
A resident reported suspicious activity. No threats were made, and the incident was documented.
• Medical Assistance — 5901 Pine Island Road
Fire rescue responded to a teacher at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School who reported feeling ill. The incident was documented.
• Information Report — Harassment Complaint
A resident reported that a former friend was making false claims about their relationship. The complainant stated the claims were untrue and blocked the individual.
• Baker Act — Parkland Grocery Store
A man experiencing a mental health crisis held a knife to his chest in a store’s meat department. Staff disarmed him, and he was transported to a behavioral health facility under Baker Act procedures.
• Theft — Parkland Residence
Packages were stolen and thrown into a nearby lake by unknown individuals. Estimated loss: $100.
• Information Report — Neighbor Dispute
Two neighbors were involved in a verbal dispute over access to a property easement behind a home. No crime occurred.
• Animal Bite — Mecca Boulevard & West Hillsboro Boulevard
A 14-year-old boy riding a scooter was bitten on the leg by a leashed dog while passing by. He received medical treatment for minor injuries. Deputies are attempting to locate the dog owner to confirm vaccination status.
• Fraud — Parkland Resident
A resident reported being contacted by scammers posing as Utah law enforcement officers who claimed she had outstanding warrants and demanded payment. The victim sent $1,000 to avoid arrest.
Arrests
• Jose Concepcion Perez Boizo, 42
Charged with burglary of an occupied dwelling. Arrested Feb. 5 in Parkland.
• Arlan Jay Hallman, 59
Arrested Feb. 6 in Parkland on an active warrant for aggravated stalking.
• Carol Margaret Arscott, 56
Arrested Feb. 9 in Parkland and charged with domestic battery.
