This is a summary of crimes and other Parkland incidents through August 19, 2024, compiled through our joint effort with the Broward Sheriff’s Office to share updates with residents.
Information was reported on 08/15/2024. It was a phone report about a possible phone scam, as the caller received a strange letter from AT&T advising her account was accessed by Cybercriminals.
Wawa was the victim of Criminal Mischief at 7705 N State Road 7 on 08/15/2024. An unknown suspect(s) cut the wires to steal fuel and tampered with WAWA’s pump #12, causing an estimated damage of $5.
A victim of Theft From a Building was reported on 08/16/2024. The total estimated loss was $30. The victim left a wallet on a couch inside the business. The video shows the subject appearing to take the wallet and leave without attempting to return it. The wallet contained credit/debit cards, a driver’s license, and a green card.
A victim of Trespassing was reported on 08/16/2024. A residential burglary turned into a trespassing incident. BSO contacted the reporting party and the parties involved in this incident.
A victim of Criminal Mischief was reported on 08/17/2024. An unknown person(s) entered the property and damaged multiple metal studs. The residence was under construction, and there were no locked doors or windows.
A victim of Criminal Mischief was reported on 08/19/2024. The caller advised that he suspected a known subject who had been at the location earlier in the day of being responsible for the damage to a mirror.
Arrests
Sabino Pimentel, Stanly Jacob, 26, was arrested on 08/13/2024 on a charge of Burglary—Unoccupied Dwelling Unarmed.
