Through our joint effort with the Broward Sheriff’s Office to share updates to residents, this is a summary of crimes that occurred in Parkland through December 9. Names of those not arrested have been redacted.
Auto theft
6620 Parkside Drive – Parkland Town Center Plaza
On December 8, a deputy responded in reference to a stolen Honda motorcycle.
Burglary Conveyance
9600 block of Waterview Way – MiraLago
On December 6, deputies met with the victim at her address in reference to an unknown person/s making entry into her unlocked and unsecured Land Rover SUV and rummaging through the glove box without permission. The incident was captured on the victim’s home video surveillance camera. Two latent prints and the video were collected and entered into evidence.
7800 block of NW 123 Ave – Heron Bay
On December 6, the victim’s unlocked Ford SUV was entered during the night. A small wallet containing an ID, badge and credit cards was stolen.

10400 block of Majestic Court – Parkland Estates
On December 7, a deputy met with the male victim who advised that his decal was taken from his vehicle.
Information
7800 block of Hillsboro Blvd
On December 8, the caller advised he was struck by a male while on the phone with 911. However once on the scene, the caller was uncooperative and left the location.
6400 block of NW 80th Terrace
On December 8, the caller advised he found his male cat dead outside his house with a puncture on its left side.
6575 NW 76 Drive – Terramar Park
On December 8, a deputy responded in reference to damaged property of a basketball hoop. No victims were listed.
9600 block of Kalmar Circle West – Four Seasons
On December 9, a male resident reported that on Sunday, 12/8, while sitting in his backyard, he heard a “spinning, whizzing” sound over his head. It was undetermined what caused the sound.

6000 block of NW 63rd Place
On December 3, the caller reported his vehicle was damaged overnight while parked in his driveway at the listed address.
Schools
5901 Pine Island Road – Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School
On December 4, a juvenile student was transported to the hospital for a medical condition.

On December 4, a female student received a picture of a hand holding a gun from her boyfriend. The boyfriend did not know the phone number it came from. After interviewing the boyfriend, it was concluded that his friend was pranking him. An investigation revealed that the friend found the picture on the internet, and sent it to his friend. The friends laughed about the incident, and no one was ever in fear. No crime was committed.
5901 Pine Island Road – Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School
On December 6, Fire Rescue was called for a 12-grade student. The student was not transported.
11000 Holmberg Road – Westglades Middle School
On December 5, an eighth-grade student was found to be in possession of a stolen cell phone that was taken from another student’s backpack during class.
10700 Trails End – Park Trails Elementary School
On December 9, a police information report was made involving a seven-year-old second-grade student. The teacher stated that the child became unruly during class. While running around the classroom, the child began randomly pushing other students. At this time, no injuries were reported. The parents were notified, and the school administrator requested the incident be documented.
