Families in Parkland are invited to kick off the school year with a night of community connection and fun as the city hosts an event aimed at familiarizing themselves with local School Resource Officers.
Parkland’s annual “Night Out” event, designed to help families connect with their School Resource Officers, will take place on Monday, August 4, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at P-REC, located at 10559 Trails End in Pine Trails Park.
Hosted by the City of Parkland’s Parks and Recreation Department, the event is free to the public. It encourages residents to enjoy a relaxed evening while engaging with local law enforcement and emergency personnel.
Families can meet the SROs who will be working at Parkland schools this year, get a close-up look at police and fire emergency vehicles, and enjoy displays and demonstrations throughout the evening.
The evening will feature live music, food, and an opportunity to explore the Parkland Recreation and Enrichment Center, where you can learn more about the programs and activities it offers.
For more information, residents are encouraged to contact the Parks and Recreation Department at 954-757-4105.
