Through our joint effort with the Broward Sheriff’s Office to share updates with residents, this is a summary of crimes and other Parkland incidents through November 6, 2023.
Information
A victim of Information on NW 75 Place on 10/31/2023. The complainant went into the room she rented to her tenant and found a handgun that he legally owned. The deputy took possession of the gun and contacted the owner. The gun was returned after a criminal history check. The tenant did not want any further action taken against the owner and advised he would be moving out as soon as possible.
A victim of Information on Riverside Drive on 11/02/2023. The reporting party advised that while riding his bicycle, he was going eastbound on Holmberg Road approaching Riverside Drive. At that time, a white Kia Forte was traveling northbound on Riverside. The driver failed to yield the right of way through the roundabout and almost collided with the reporting party.
A victim of Information on 11/02/2023. The reporting person advised that she hired a contractor for a project at her residence. After paying the contractor, he did not begin the job. The contractor reported that he would refund the reporting person and has been giving the complainant money but still owes the complainant $2868.00.
Theft
A victim of Theft – Retail / Shoplifting on University Drive on 10/31/2023. Four unidentified male juvenile suspects took four fountain sodas and one side food item from the store without paying for them. The total value was $10.33.
Lost Property
A victim of Lost Property on 11/01/2023. The reporting person said she lost her Tiffany & Co. ring at a Halloween party/haunted house.
Property Damage
A victim of Property Damage on NW 72 Street on 11/01/2023. The reporting person advised that her mailbox was damaged. It appears from vehicle tracks on the ground that a large dump truck may have inadvertently run the mailbox over. The vacant lot next door has had numerous recent dirt deliveries.
Burglary
A victim of Burglary Residence on NW 120 Drive on 11/05/2023. The victim’s Porsche was stolen from his open garage while he was inside his home. The victim attempted to stop the suspect as the suspect was backing out of the driveway. The key fob was left in the vehicle. The suspect fled in the vehicle and was last seen exiting the north Heron Bay gate on Nob Hill Road.
Arrests
No arrests were reported.
