This is a summary of crimes and other Parkland incidents through September 16, 2024, compiled through our joint effort with the Broward Sheriff’s Office to share updates with residents.
Battery
A victim of Battery was reported on 09/10/2024. Deputies were dispatched about a battery. The investigation revealed the incident was of mutant combatants.
Theft
A victim of Theft—All Other was reported on 09/10/2024. The total estimated loss was $4,000. An unknown male walked up to the front door of the residence, picked up the delivered package, and fled the area. The package contained four iPhone 15s, valued at $4,000.
Lost Property
A victim of Lost Property was reported on 09/15/2024. An adult male stated he lost or misplaced his identification documents. He believed he might have left the documents inside a bag he sent out for return to Amazon. A report was completed to document these lost or misplaced documents.
Information
Information was reported on 09/12/2024. The resident went jogging around the lake and lost her keys.
Information was reported on 09/12/2024. Deputies were dispatched regarding a disturbance between two neighbors. One neighbor stated that mail was being incorrectly delivered to his address after numerous attempts to resolve the problem. The other neighbor was unaware that this issue was still ongoing after he made attempts to fix it.
Information was reported on 09/14/2024. The complainant found two dogs. Both dogs had severe bite marks, one of which was missing an earflap, but they appeared to be well cared for. Based on their injuries, it’s possible that the puppies were attacked by coyotes or other dogs. The puppies, which were not chipped, were turned over to Broward County Animal Control.
Information was reported on 09/15/2024. A juvenile female sent snap shots of a message thread containing threats to another juvenile female.
Information was reported on 08/14/24. The reporter called to state that she had a rented vehicle, a white 2023 BMW X1, that the owner had picked up back in August 2024 because she was late returning it. She said that she had some personal belongings inside the vehicle, and now she cannot get in touch with the owner to get them returned.
Information was reported on 09/16/2024. The reporter heard a loud noise from the front of the residence. When she went to the front door, she observed a large portion of the tree from her front yard lying across both cars parked in the driveway, partially blocking the front door.
Arrests
No arrests were reported.
