Parkland Flag Football continues to establish itself as one of the premier youth flag football programs in the country, as four teams have officially qualified for the NFL FLAG National Championships, taking place June 22-28.Ā
The week-long event will bring together the nation’s top youth teams, with Parkland proudly representing three NFL franchises.
The 8U boys team will represent the Jacksonville Jaguars at the NFL FLAG National Championships under the leadership of head coach Daren Daly. The talented roster features Carter Daly, Nico Pedone, Joseph Ungerer, Asher Miller, Justice McGriff, Ethan Lawarence, AJ DosSantos, and Cooper KoKonas as they prepare to compete against the nation’s top teams.
The 10U boys team will represent the Tennessee Titans after an outstanding season. Coaches Jake Brier and Mike Davis will lead a talented roster featuring Dominic Aversa, Malachi Brier, Christian Corvino, Jace Davis, Brody Goldstein, Aiden Goldsmith, Cooper Haggerty,and Parker Haggerty as they look to make a run at a national championship.
Parkland’s 12U boys team earned the honor of representing the Cincinnati Bengals. Led by coaches Max Wyman, Todd Link, and Nirm Shah, the team includes James Wyman, Kellen Link, Austin Shah, Joseph Zalka, Joey LeClaire, Tyson Clarke, Christian “CJ” Mikosz, Jonathan Isaac McGriff, and Greyson Darienzo.Ā
The program’s 14U girls team will represent the Miami Dolphins at the national tournament. Coaches Kraig Zaharia, Nirm Shah, and Mike Rachimi have guided a talented squad made up of Ainsley Weissman, Noa Rachimi, Kaitlin Zaharia, Avery Shah, Olivia Ged, Sammy Link, Emily Broch, and Isabella “Izzy” Miller.
Before heading to Indiana, several teams are holding fundraisers. The 12u teamis inviting the community to help support its journey during a fundraiser at Dear Olivia Bar & Kitchen, located at 7805 N. University Drive, Suite 100, in Parkland, on Thursday, July 9.Throughout the event, diners who mention the “Destroyers Flag Team” when ordering will have a percentage of their purchase donated to help offset the team’s travel expenses to Nationals.The team is also raffling off a four-pack of two-park tickets to Universal Orlando Resort.
