The Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School JROTC program will host a blood drive.
The Eagle Battalion will partner with OneBlood to host the blood drive aimed at saving lives in the community. It will take place on December 3 from 7:40 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at 5901 Pine Island Road, Parkland, on the north side of the MSD campus.
All donors must be at least 16 years old (with parental consent), in general good health, and weigh at least 110 pounds. The public is welcome, and for every unit of blood donated, OneBlood will contribute money to the program’s equipment for their activities, according to Lieutenant Colonel Mark Anders, senior instructor for the Eagle Battalion.
“Every day, patients in hospitals depend on blood donations to help with surgeries, cancer treatments, and trauma care. Just one pint of blood can save up to three lives,” said Anders.
