This is a summary of crimes and other Parkland incidents through April 8, 2024, compiled through our joint effort with the Broward Sheriff’s Office to share updates with residents.
Traffic Offense
A Non-Arrestable Traffic Offense was reported on 04/04/2024. While conducting traffic enforcement, the deputy observed three male juveniles riding one electric bike with no lights, riding in and out of the bike lane into the roadway. The driver was issued a citation, and the electric bike was towed.
Fire
A victim of Fire was reported on 04/05/2024. A Residential Fire was reported. Upon arrival, the residence was fully engulfed. No injuries were reported.
The City Of Parkland was a victim of a Fire that was reported on 4/07/2024. An adult female reported a brush fire.
Information
Information was reported on 04/05/2024. The reporting person advised that she is being harassed by her husband’s ex-girlfriend/wife. No threats of bodily harm were made, but she advised that the ex called her approximately 15 times and called her rude names.
Theft
A victim of Theft – Bicycle was reported on 04/06/2024. The total estimated loss was $200. Deputies responded to a report of 2 subjects taking bicycles from the car wash. The subjects were located, and the bicycles were returned to the owners.
A victim of Auto Theft was reported on 04/08/2024. The unknown suspect(s) gained access to the locked vehicle by unknown means and attempted to steal it but were unsuccessful.
Arrests
Turkel, Henry David, 74, was arrested on 04/02/2024 on a charge of Trespassing—after Warning—structure Or Conveyance.
Foster, Johnathan Antonio, 22, was arrested on an Out-of-County Warrant at 6500 NW 62 Terrace on 04/04/2024.
Vanderputten, April Elizabeth, 45, was arrested on a Warrant at 7914 Shenandoah Lane on 04/04/2024.
