Marjory Stoneman Douglas Football Player Competes in All-Star Game

Aris Skarecki of the Marjory Stoneman Douglas football team became the latest Eagle to have an opportunity to play in an All-Star Game.

On Thursday night in Miramar, Skarecki competed as guard and center in the SWFL vs. SFL Sandviper All-Star Game and won 15-3 in a matchup consisting of some of the top seniors in Florida. His teammate, Chris Cedpea, was also selected to participate but could not attend.

“He doesn’t get the notoriety those other guys did because he is only 5’11 – 6’0, but he is a great player, brings it every day,” said Head Coach Quentin Short. “He is a player who has a mentality of dominating his opponent on every play.”

Skarecki has been a three-year starter on the Eagles and won a pair of District Championships in 2019 and 2020. He played in 22 varsity games, winning 16, creating space for running backs Matthew Wilson, A.J Darring, Derek Geffrard, Christopher Darius, Brian Smith, and Alex Rodriguez, and protecting quarterbacks Matt O’Dowd, Ryan Spallina, and Hunter Rose.

In both 2019 and 2021, MSD accumulated over 1,000 yards rushing and passing. Skarecki is also likely to become the next great offensive linemen in college, following Chris and Gage Gaynor, Nick Weber, Jack Fris, and Michael McLaughlin.
