Although summer is underway, the fun will soon come to an abrupt end when children have to start preparing for the new school year.
In the 2019/2010 Broward County Public School calendar, the new school year begins Wednesday, August 14, 2019, right in the middle of the summer’s hottest month.
The next big break won’t be until Thanksgiving from Wednesday, November 27 through Friday, November 29, 2019,
Winter break begins Friday, December 20, 2019, with an early release day and will continue through Tuesday, January 7, 2020.
Spring break is early enough to hit the slopes and begins Thursday, March 19, 2020, with an early release day and will continue until they head back to school Monday, March 30, 2020.
The last day of school is Tuesday, June 2, 2020, which is an early release day.
