On Tuesday, the School Board of Broward County elected Donna Korn as chair and Rosalind Osgood as vice-chair. The nominations and election took place during the School Board’s Annual Organizational Meeting.
Korn has served on the School Board since 2011. She earned a bachelor’s degree in English from Emory University and has completed courses towards a master’s degree in urban education at Florida International University. She is also a graduate of Western High School in Davie and a former English teacher. Korn also works at Cushman & Wakefield as the managing director of commercial leasing. Korn’s elected district is at-large, which includes Parkland and all of Broward County.
Osgood has served on the School Board since 2012. She has earned both a master’s and a doctoral degree in public administration from Nova Southeastern University. She is a Broward County native and graduate of Fort Lauderdale High School. Osgood is a preacher at New Mount Olive Baptist Church.
In 2002, she was ordained and in December of 2007, she earned a master of divinity degree from New Orleans Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. She currently serves as an associate minister at New Mount Olive Baptist Church. In addition, she is the founder of Dr. Rosalind Osgood’s Ministry International and is an anointed itinerant preacher. Her elected district includes eastern Tamarac, Lauderhill, Lauderdale Lakes, and Plantation.
The chair’s term is one year.
