Marjory Stoneman Douglas graduate Gavin Conticello became the latest former Eagle to be promoted to the minor leagues.
The third baseman was promoted to High A ball with the Hillsboro Hops in the Arizona Diamondbacks minor league system. This comes after Conticello hit 15 home runs and drove in 49 runs in 370 at-bats with the Visalia Rawhide after homering off Shohei Ontani in Spring Training.
The former eighth-round pick in the 2022 draft hit .301 in high school and had his best season as a senior, where he won State and National Championships. He had a pair of home runs, drove in 23 RBIs, and made his debut with his new team on Wednesday night, recording a double.
