As the new school year approaches, the Parkland Chamber of Commerce has planned a Back-to-School Zoom Q&A featuring some of Broward County and Parkland’s highest-ranking educational leaders.
The 4th Annual Back-to-School Q&A session, featuring incoming Superintendent Dr. Peter Licata, Broward County School Board Chair Lori Alhadeff, and local principals, will take place on Monday, August 7, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. via Zoom.
“We feel this is a wonderful opportunity for parents and Parkland residents to hear from their school Principals, as well as Broward County School Board Chair Lori Alhadeff and the new Superintendent Dr. Peter Licata,” Cindy Kaufman, Director of Programming for the Parkland Chamber of Commerce tells Parkland Talk.
To participate in the Zoom call, virtual attendees are asked to register here before the event.
According to the Parkland Chamber, the list of principals scheduled to attend the Zoom call includes Michelle Kefford, Principal of Marjory Stoneman Douglas; Matthew Bianchi, Principal of West Glades Middle School; Meg Campbell, Principal of Somerset Academy; Jennifer McGreevy, Principal of Heron Heights Elementary; Arlene Manville, Principal of Park Trails Elementary; Jo-Anne Misiewicz Seltzer, Principal of Riverglades Elementary; and Yamilca Gomez, Principal of Florida Virtual School.
Kaufman added, “It’s a rare opportunity for parents to participate in a smaller setting where their questions can be addressed.”
To ensure a smooth and engaging Q&A session, participants must submit their questions in advance via email to info@parklandchamber.org.
According to Kaufman, attendees can also submit questions within a chat box that appears during the Zoom call.
While the organizers will try to address as many questions as possible, due to time constraints and the popularity of the session, all queries may not be addressed.
