Parkland weekly Crime Update by Parkland Talk

Through our joint effort with the Broward Sheriff’s Office to share updates with residents, this is a summary of crimes and other Parkland incidents through July 24, 2023.

Criminal Mischief

A victim of Criminal Mischief on W Hillsboro Blvd was reported on: 07/18/2023. The staff contacted BSO Parkland after they discovered the men’s bathroom sink vandalized and set fire with remnants of something that appeared to have been burned in the restroom.

A victim of Criminal Mischief on Nob Hill Road was reported on: 07/21/2023. The victim’s father called to report that while his son was dropping off a friend, a small group of teenagers threw eggs at his car, striking it once and causing a scratch in the paint.

Information

Information on NW 70 Court was reported on: 07/21/2023. The homeowner filed an insurance claim regarding his roof, which was denied, and later sued his insurance and won. A sub-contractor was contracted to carry out the renovation. A sub-contractor was not paid and filed a lien against the owner and wanted to file a formal complaint as he feels it violates Florida State Statute 713.345.

Arrests

Sims, Wayman N., 24, was arrested on a charge of Larceny – Petit Theft 1st Degree 100 Less 750 Dollars on Heron Bay Blvd N on 07/22/2023.
