The Broward County Sheriff’s Office in Parkland responded to various incidents between March 3 and March 9, 2026.
Incidents
• Violation of Restraining Order Service – Parkland
Deputies responded to a reported violation of a domestic violence restraining order on March 8. Upon arrival, deputies discovered the order had not yet been served. Parkland deputies obtained the order and coordinated with Weston deputies, who completed the service.
• Bicycle vs. Vehicle Incident Near School – Parkland
A delayed report was filed after a child riding a bicycle collided with a vehicle exiting school property on March 2. No injuries or property damage were reported.
• Threat Assessment – Heron Heights Elementary School, 11010 Nob Hill Road
Deputies completed a threat assessment report involving a student incident at Heron Heights Elementary.
• Mental Health Welfare Check – Parkland
Deputies responded to a call regarding an intoxicated male reportedly making suicidal statements. After investigation, the claims were determined to be unfounded. The individual did not meet the criteria for involuntary commitment and was assisted by a friend and transported to a rehabilitation facility in Lake Worth.
• Aftercare Altercation – Heron Heights Elementary School
A parent reported that their child was involved in an altercation during the school’s aftercare program. The incident was documented.
• Gasoline Vapor Fire Incident – Parkland
An individual suffered minor burns after attempting to refuel a hot, running pressure washer, igniting gasoline vapors. Coral Springs Fire Rescue extinguished the fire, and the injured person was transported to the hospital with minor injuries.
• Obstructing Vehicles Warning – Parkland
Deputies responded to a complaint of two vehicles blocking a roadway. Attempts to locate the owners were unsuccessful, and traffic warning citations were issued. The homeowner later explained the vehicles were parked there due to a resealed driveway and moved them after being advised of the violation.
• Medical Incident – Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, 5901 Pine Island Road
Fire Rescue responded to the school after a juvenile male experienced a seizure.
• Student Interaction Report – Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School
A student reported feeling uncomfortable after another student briefly placed her arm around the reporting party and asked if she was speaking about a friend. No threats were made, and the incident was documented for information purposes.
• Neighbor Disturbance – Parkland
Deputies responded to a dispute after a neighbor yelled and cursed at a juvenile who was performing a wheelie on a bicycle. Deputies spoke with all parties involved and documented the incident.
• Account Security Concern – Parkland
A resident reported that an unknown email address had been linked to her DirecTV account, preventing access. The service provider corrected the account information, and no unauthorized transactions were discovered.
• Neighbor Driving Complaint – Parkland
A resident requested documentation after reporting that a neighbor drove too close to him at a high speed while near the street.
Property Crimes
• Lost Property – Parkland
A resident reported losing both an engagement ring and an anniversary ring during a move from Parkland to Boca Raton. The jewelry is valued at approximately $31,000.
• Auto Theft – Parkland
A vehicle was stolen during the early morning hours of March 5 after being left unlocked with the keys inside. Surveillance footage from neighboring homes was collected as evidence.
• Criminal Mischief – Parkland
A driver reported that an unknown person threw a water balloon that struck the roof of his vehicle while he was driving through a neighborhood, causing minor damage. Deputies searched the area but did not locate any suspects.
• Retail Theft – CVS, 7621 N State Road 7
A suspect entered the store and stole multiple personal care items, including Dove body wash, lotions and Febreze products, with a total reported loss of approximately $236.69.
• Jewelry Theft – Parkland
An unknown suspect stole approximately $30,000 worth of jewelry from a residence. Parkland Criminal Investigations responded to assist with the investigation.
Arrests
• Kevin Henry Johnson, 43, of Parkland
Johnson was arrested on March 4 on a warrant for aggravated assault with a firearm, a felony charge.
