Baker Acts / Mental Health
Baker Act — Parkland
Nov. 24 — Deputies responded to a residence where a bipolar and schizophrenic male had been screaming for hours. He was detained without incident and taken to Broward Health Coral Springs under the Baker Act.
Baker Act — Parkland
Nov. 25 — A woman was transported under the Baker Act after reportedly taking a handful of Advil with intent to harm herself. Her daughter witnessed the incident and notified her father, who called 911.
Information Reports
Juveniles on e-bikes in closed park — Pine Trails Park
Nov. 25 — Deputies stopped juveniles riding e-bikes through a closed park after they cursed at deputies and attempted to flee. They were later located, issued ordinance citations, and released to their parents.
Ex-employee payment dispute — Parkland
Nov. 25 — A former security employee contacted a Rabbi after being denied payment for a shift. No threats were made and the incident was documented for reference.
FortifyFL tip — Parkland
Nov. 25 — A juvenile reported receiving text messages from another student threatening to beat him up over a dispute involving a lost item in the video game Roblox. Both juveniles apologized after deputies intervened.
Dog struck by vehicle — Parkland
Nov. 27 — A resident reported that her unleashed dog was struck by a neighbor’s vehicle, resulting in a dislocated leg and significant veterinary bills.
Neighbor/child dispute — Parkland
Nov. 29 — A child claimed a neighbor threatened him after he and a friend threw rocks near the neighbor’s driveway. The neighbor denied making threats. No wrongdoing was substantiated.
Domestic Disturbances (Non-Crime)
Juvenile refusing care — Parkland
Nov. 25 — Deputies responded to a call involving a 12-year-old anorexic boy refusing medical care. No Baker Act criteria were met.
Parental dispute — Parkland
Nov. 25 — A disturbance between parents regarding their children was reported. No crime occurred.
Verbal dispute / broken phone — Parkland
Nov. 26 — A woman reported her husband smashed their shared phone during an argument before leaving the home. He later returned to her workplace without incident.
Welfare check — Parkland
Nov. 27 — An ex-husband requested a welfare check based on concerns involving his wife’s boyfriend. Deputies found no signs of misconduct.
Broken iPad during bedtime dispute — Parkland
Nov. 30 — A father reported his estranged wife threw their daughter’s iPad on the floor after the child refused to stop using it. No physical altercation occurred.
Found / Lost Property
Found currency — Parkland District Office
Nov. 26 — A citizen turned in a found $100 bill.
Death Investigation
Natural causes — Parkland
Nov. 27 — An elderly male was found deceased in his bedroom. He had an extensive cardiac history. No suspicious circumstances were observed.
Property Crimes
Criminal Mischief — Holiday décor vandalism
Nov. 25–26 — A juvenile was caught on security footage diving onto and destroying an inflatable turkey decoration before fleeing on a golf cart.
Criminal Mischief — Burnt trash bin
Nov. 23–25 — A melted Waste Management trash bin was discovered between bleachers at Pine Trails Park. Unknown suspect.
Burglary Conveyance — Parkland
Nov. 26–27 — An unlocked vehicle was entered and a work bag containing a wallet, credit cards, and a Dell laptop was stolen. Estimated loss: $70.
Theft From Building — Parkland
Nov. 28 — A purse went missing from a residence shortly after an AT&T service appointment. Estimated loss: $215.
Arrests
Battery
Nov. 26 — Reginale Metayer, 38, was arrested after punching his boss in the face during a workplace confrontation. The victim wished to prosecute.
