The Broward County Sheriff’s Office in Parkland responded to various incidents between December 23 and 29, 2025. Below is a detailed account of the incidents and arrests handled by local law enforcement.
Incidents
Domestic Disturbances (Non-Crime)
Deputies responded to multiple domestic disturbance calls during the week involving verbal disputes between spouses or family members. In each case, no physical violence was reported or observed, and no arrests were made. In one incident, a husband reported receiving what he perceived as threatening messages left by his estranged wife. In another, a husband and wife argued over a possible divorce and voluntarily separated for the evening.
Theft
A Parkland resident reported a city-issued trash container stolen from in front of her home sometime between the evening of Dec. 23 and the morning of Dec. 24. The estimated loss was $100.
A resident reported the theft of a youth baseball catcher’s mitt valued at $450 after it fell off a vehicle while driving on Dec. 13. The mitt was believed to have been taken by juveniles in the roadway.
Criminal Mischief
A resident reported the rear windshield of her 2025 Nissan Murano had shattered overnight between Dec. 24 and Dec. 25. She suspected a family member but declined prosecution.
Multiple businesses in the shopping plaza at 7111–7151 N. State Road 7, including T-Mobile and Parkland Bagel & Deli, reported windows damaged by a shirtless, heavy-set male who allegedly threw rocks at storefronts after the plaza closed on Christmas Eve. Surveillance images were obtained.
Burglary
A Parkland homeowner reported a residential burglary on Dec. 27 after surveillance footage showed two unknown males entering the home and stealing a watch valued at $500.
Another residence reported an attempted burglary early Dec. 29 after suspects entered through a screened door and attempted further entry into the home.
Fraud
A resident reported discovering a fraudulent check for $984.21 cashed from his Wells Fargo account. The check was allegedly cashed by an unknown suspect using the victim’s driver’s license information.
Trespassing
Two juveniles were reported banging on doors and causing a disturbance at a residence on Dec. 27. The reporting party declined prosecution and requested the juveniles be formally trespassed from the property.
Lost Property
A woman reported losing a white Michael Kors wallet containing identification while visiting Pine Trails Park. Attempts to locate the wallet were unsuccessful.
Mental Health / Baker Act Incidents
Deputies responded to several mental health-related calls during the week, including incidents involving suicidal statements. Individuals meeting criteria were transported for evaluation under the Baker Act. No criminal charges were filed in these cases.
Information Reports
Deputies documented multiple informational reports, including a package mistakenly delivered to a former homeowner and a welfare concern involving alleged suicidal statements that were later denied by the subject.
Arrests
David William Brewer, of Parkland, was arrested on Dec. 25 and charged with domestic battery (touch or strike) following an incident in which a victim reported being pushed to the ground multiple times, resulting in a broken wrist.
