December 31, 2024
Gun Buyback Program:
At 8:20 a.m., an adult male surrendered two firearms at the BSO Parkland District Office for the district gun buyback program. No victims or suspects were involved.
Baker Act:
Between 10:30 a.m. and 10:51 a.m., BSO deputies responded to a juvenile male acting erratically and determined he met Florida Baker Act requirements. The juvenile was transported to a hospital without incident.
Burglary:
Between 8:58 p.m. and 9:04 p.m., a victim reported a burglary at his residence. No further details provided.
January 1, 2025
Reckless Driving Incident:
At midnight, a black Dodge Ram truck attempted to run over a man lighting fireworks in the roadway. The driver remains unidentified.
Fraud Incident:
A resident reported unauthorized check fraud involving four checks. The bank refunded the stolen amount.
January 2, 2025
Identity Misuse:
An adult female reported that her name was listed as the primary contact on an American Express Business account for an unfamiliar company.
January 3, 2025
Auto Theft:
A vehicle was stolen between 2:30 p.m. and 6:48 a.m. on this date. The victim reported no towing or repossession, and no witnesses or surveillance footage was found. Estimated loss: $5,770.
January 4, 2025
Property Damage:
At 1:37 p.m., a resident of the Cypresshead community reported damage to an exit-only gate caused by unauthorized vehicle access. Surveillance footage captured the incident.
Domestic Battery Arrest:
At approximately 10:00 p.m., a domestic dispute resulted in the arrest of an adult female for throwing a food container at her husband’s face. The suspect was transported to the BSO main jail.
January 5, 2025
Suspicious Activity:
At 9:42 a.m., a resident observed two masked individuals approaching his Mercedes G63. Upon noticing the homeowner, the suspects fled in a white Mercedes sedan. No property was taken, and video evidence was submitted.
January 6, 2025
Unresolved Transaction Dispute:
A man reported an unresolved 2022 transaction involving the purchase of a French Bulldog. Despite partial payments, the seller failed to provide health documentation for the dog.
Arrests
Domestic Battery:
Maria Luiza Guzman, 41, was arrested on January 4, 2025, for domestic battery.
