Through our joint effort with the Broward Sheriff’s Office to share updates to residents, this is a summary of crimes and other Parkland incidents through February 7, 2022.
Battery
Holmberg Rd.
On 02/01/2022, two 8th grade students met each other near the bus loading/unloading area of the school campus at school release and got into a physical altercation with each other. Since last week, there has been an ongoing dispute between the two parties, but neither party reported it to school staff. The dispute escalated until the fight. No injuries were reported, and parents were notified.
S. Barnsley Dr.
A person was the victim of a Battery on 02/01/2022. During a physical fight between two IT technicians at a client’s house, one punched the other following an argument over an equipment update. A Waiver of Prosecution was signed. Both parties refused rescue and left the property without further incident.
Burglary Conveyance
NW 65th Ter.
A person was the victim of Burglary Conveyance on 02/04/2022. The victim’s unlocked vehicle was entered, and a black Prada wallet was removed from the center console. The victim’s Bank of America debit card was used at a Dunkin’ Donuts in Homestead. The wallet contained $65, a Florida driver’s license, and a Florida concealed weapons license. Tot. Est. Loss: $315.
Found Property
10559 Trails End
On 02/03/2022, a Smith and Wesson firearm was located inside the bathroom at Parkland Recreation and Enrichment Center. The firearm was placed into evidence until the owner could claim it.
Information
NW 83rd Ter.
On 01/31/2022, a female victim advised of repeated unwanted text messages from a suspect. The victim reported she told the suspect to stop contacting her but received additional profanity-laced texts.
Holmberg Rd.
On 02/01/2022, deputies met with BSO Child Investigative Services investigators regarding a report made to the Florida Abuse Hotline. CPIS Investigator advised that the incident happened in Coral Springs, and the student interviewed is the older sibling of the child named in the investigation but was not involved in the incident.
Trails End
On 02/02/2022, a woman advised her daughter was receiving threatening social media messages from another student.
Resisting Arrest
University Dr.
On 02/05/2022, a traffic stop was conducted on a silver Nissan Murano. The driver was arrested for driving with a suspended license and resisting without violence.
Theft From Building
N. Blue Spring Dr.
A victim of Theft From Building was reported on 02/01/2022. Unknown person(s) stole 35 bundles of High-Rib Lath and nine boxes of vinyl corner beads from a construction site. Total loss is $3,300.
Arrest
Finklin, Timothy Shenard, 30, was arrested on charges of Resist Officer-obstruct Wo Violence on University Dr on 02/05/2022.
