Celebrate the city’s 61st birthday on Saturday, March 9, at Parkland Day.
Back by popular demand, Parkland Day plans to entertain the community with festivities, food, music, and much more, all in celebration of the city’s 61st birthday.
Todd DeAngelis, Parkland’s Director of Communications, shared his enthusiasm for the event with Parkland Talk, dishing that the city decided to bring back Parkland Day after the response to past events.
“Last year, we brought back Parkland Day, which was incredibly well received. It wasn’t our initial intent to have it every year, but we heard what the residents said and decided maybe we should.”
The day begins with the parade from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., then resumes at 4:00 p.m. at the amphitheater located at Pine Trails Park.
Attendees can expect many options, including a business expo, a food court, kids’ rides, and games for all ages. A community art project will also be on-site for the community to engage with.
The stage will host continual community performances leading up to the main event featuring the band Rubixx, set to begin at 7:00 p.m.
Parkland Day accepts applications from those who wish to participate in the parade and community performances and support the event through business partnerships. Click here to access and complete those applications.
