Through our joint effort with the Broward Sheriff’s Office to share updates to residents, this is a is a list of crimes that occurred in Parkland from December 4 through 11, 2018.
Theft
6500 block of NW 105th Terrace
On December 5, at 3:00 p.m., a resident advised BSO that a pool motor, filter, and filter cap were stolen from the side of his home between December 3 at 12:00 p.m. and December 5 at 3:00 p.m..
7600 block of N. SR 7 Burglary Conveyance
On December 8, between 12:30 p.m. and 1:00 p.m., unknown suspects unlawfully entered the victim’s 2001 Kia that was parked at the 7600 block of N. SR 7 and removed her white purse. Entry was made by smashing the front passenger window. The victim advised that she had left her white Michael Kors purse on the front seat of her car, however it contained no property of value, only papers.
7200 block of NW 112th Terrace – Parkland Reserve Burglary Conveyance
Between December 7, at 11:00 p.m. and December 8 at 3:00 p.m., a victim’s unlocked 2008 Acura MDX was entered during the night by an unknown subject. The center console was searched and prescription sunglasses were stolen.
Fraud
6600 block of NW 101st Terrace
Between November 24, at 12:00 p.m. and December 6, at 2:31 p.m., an unknown person(s) opened two accounts under a victim’s name.
5901 Hillsboro Blvd – BJ`s Wholesale
On December 10, at 6:30 p.m., a manager at BJ`S Wholesale advised BSO that a female suspect had submitted six fraudulent checks to obtain merchandise at the retail store. Checks were written on a closed account and the female suspect utilized two different names on the checks.
6500 block of NW 97th Drive
On December 5 at 9:02 p.m., the mother of teenager called to report that a fake Instagram account was created using her daughter’s pictures and messaging other students.
Schools
Westglades Middle School, 11000 Holmberg Road
On December 7, at 12:45 p.m., an officer made contact with a female resident who filed an incident report through “Saferwatch”. The report cited an incident that took place on Friday, December 7 at Westglades Middle School between her 11-year-old son and another student.
Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, 5901 Pine Island Rd
On December 5, an officer was contacted by Principal Thompson in reference to an Instagram post.

On December 5, at 11:46 a.m., Fire Rescue 43 responded and transported a teacher to Coral Springs Medical Center for evaluation.
Other
7000 block of NW 75th Street
On December 6 at approximately 12:03 p.m., an officer responded in reference to an AOA (Assist other agency). Upon arrival, the officer contacted the person involved in reference to a welfare check. Coral Springs Fire/Rescue responded to the scene in reference to medical and mental assistance and the evaluation.
7100 block of NW 70th Terrace
On December 7, approximately 2:54 p.m., an officer responded in reference to a civil matter. Upon arrival, the officer contacted the person reporting, who advised of a verbal altercation with the neighbor’s landscaper.
6600 block of NW 103rd Lane
On December 8 at 10:18 a.m., an officer responded to a medical fall injury.
7200 block of NW 64th Terrace
On December 10 at 3:00 p.m., an anonymous tip was received that a 49-year-old male was committing a Parkland City code violation by operating a business out of his residence.
