Both Westglades boys’ and girls’ cross county teams competed in the Middle School Athletic Association Championship at Tradewind Parks in Coconut Creek.
On Thursday, the boys had five runners compete with Matthew Rosenberg, finishing with the top time of 14:56.01 to come in 15th place. Both Alexander Spadaccini crossed the line two spots later while Ethan Reynolds came in 18th. Franco Kwan-Acosta and James Mills also ran and completed the race with times 17:46.50 and 19:11.60, respectively.
The girls finished in fourth place overall and had four runners place in the top 32. Katie Wagner was first to cross the line, followed by Noa Nierman and Mickayla Sugrano. Taryn Bander came in 50th while Julie Wagner, Gabriella Rivera, and Rylie Brown all competed.
Falcon Cove Middle School came in first place for the boys, while Dillard won in the 2.3-mile race for the girls.
