With the 2022 high school fall season wrapped up, 16 Marjory Stoneman Douglas student-athletes received county awards.
The lone All-County First Team selection from the Eagles was Clayon Cannon Jr., who finished the season with 1,594 rushing yards and 15 touchdowns.
He also added 119 receiving yards and had one interception, four pass breakups, and 47 tackles. Clayton was later selected to compete in the BCAA and Miami-Dade vs. Broward All-Star Game.
Justin Spano was selected to Second Team All-County after his terrific season. He added 1,069 rushing yards with 13 touchdowns and 237 receiving yards with three more scores.
Gabriel Lenamon was also selected to Second Team All-County after leading the team with 115 tackles. He also had 1.5 sacks helping MSD reach the Regional Semifinals after picking up their first playoff win since 2007 against Santaluces High School before competing in the BCAA All-Star Game.
The Eagles also had three football players named Honorable Mentions: Tucker Jean, Collin Kenough, and Ryan Spallina. Jean led the team with 10.5 sacks, while Keough finished fourth with 45 tackles. Spallina threw for 1,159 yards and 15 touchdown passes and ran for an additional 256 with nine rushing scores.
The boys golf team had an incredible season, leading to second-team selections from Dylan Marrone and T.J. Thompson. Cynthia Liu was selected for the First Team for the girls. She finished second at Regionals and third at Districts. She also won the 2022 South Florida PGA Patty Berg Championship, and Ryan Shimony was an Honorable Mention.
Coby Alhadeff and Ella Schwartz were Honorable Mentions from the cross country team, while Reese Balcom and Carolyn Powell were selected from the girls swim team. Bryce Gregory and Ryan Terpstra were picked from the boys bowling team.
