When people go to a baseball game, they may grab a hot dog or a snack, but food is seldom important.
The concession stand at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School baseball games is an exception. Eagles fans can enjoy a gourmet meal while watching one of the nation’s top high school baseball teams.
Michael Jay, a director of the team’s booster club known as “Chef Mike,” fellow members, and volunteers prepare hamburgers, steak and onion sandwiches, Cuban sandwiches, tomahawk steaks, lobster rolls, pulled pork sandwiches and other high-quality items. During games, the volunteers can be seen working on the grill and barbecuing restaurant-quality hamburgers.
“Everything we earn goes to the team. The boys work hard, and we want them to have the best,” said Michael.
His wife, Robin, is the booster club secretary. Their son, Peyton, is a pitcher for the Eagles and will play baseball for Flagler College.

“The team members are always at our house, and we love to feed the boys,” said Robin. “We do lobster rolls for the finals and cowboy-cut steaks for the coaches.”
The Jays take pride in their concessions and love seeing families enjoy a good meal.
