Isabella Cox honored on Senior Night. {MSD Volleyball}
Despite the match ultimately being cancelled, the Marjory Stoneman Douglas girls volleyball team still had the chance to recognize their lone senior, Isabella Cox, on Wednesday night.
Cox says joining the MSD volleyball team was one of the best decisions she has ever made.
“It gave me the chance to meet my best friends and taught me the true meaning of leadership, Cox said. “Being recognized on senior night made me deeply grateful for such a supportive and loving community. I owe so much to MSD volleyball, my coach, and my teammates.”
Cox has been a starter on the varsity team since her freshman year and has had a phenomenal career, accumulating 343 kills. Cox has added 79 aces while also shining defensively with 351 digs.
During her varsity career, the Eagles have won 43 matches, including a 9-1 start this year. The only loss came against Cypress Bay High School, as MSD has posted wins against West Broward, Cypress Bay, Cooper City, Chaminade Madonna, Northeast, Flanagan, Coral Glades, J.P. Taravella, and Pompano Beach High School.
MSD is set to play only one more match during the regular season against South Plantation High School on October 9 at 4:30 p.m. The Paladins are 0-10 this year and have won only one set after going 20-4 a season ago and beating MSD in five sets in their only matchup. The match with Coral Springs Charter is potentially being rescheduled for later this year.
