A Parkland synagogue is ready to celebrate with a special Shabbat event.
Congregation Kol Tikvah is holding a special edition of Rock Shabbat and Dancing with the Torah on Friday, October 6, where attendees can expect an evening of music, dancing, and delicious cuisine.
The festivities will kick off at 5:30 p.m. at the Kol Tikvah, located at 6750 North University Drive, with a warm welcome to new congregation members. As a token of appreciation, those who have become members since January 2023 will receive a complimentary dinner. To ensure a seamless experience, RSVP is required.
The evening will continue with the Rock Shabbat and Simchat Torah services scheduled immediately following the dinner at 6:30 p.m. Congregation Kol Tikvah invites everyone to join the celebration, regardless of their background or faith. It’s an opportunity for the entire community to come together, dance, and revel in the joy of this special occasion.
Simchat Torah, which translates to “Rejoicing in the Torah,” is a time-honored Jewish holiday marking the end of the annual cycle of Torah readings and the beginning of a new one.
Dancing with the Torah is a cherished tradition during this holiday, symbolizing the Jewish community’s love and connection to their sacred texts.
To RSVP for the dance and dinner, visit the congregation’s official registration page.
