The Marjory Stoneman Douglas girls volleyball team’s terrific season came to an end on Wednesday night in a loss to Miami Palmetto Senior High School.
The Eagles were seeded sixth in Regionals and played three tight sets, but lost 25-17, 25-18, 25-22 to the third seed, finishing the year 12-4. MSD won 11 games in the regular season, including qualifying for the Big-8 Tournament featuring the top Broward County Schools.
At the District Tournament, the Eagles beat J.P. Taravella in the opening round before losing to Boca Raton Community High School. Alyssa James led the team in kills while Isabella Cox, the lone senior on the team, finished second. Freshman Adriana Henriquez was the blocks leader while Chloe Siqueria led the team in sigs and Grace Pulsifer shined with her assists.
