Marjory Stoneman Douglas Wide Receiver Hervin Louis Wins MVP in FACA All-Star Game

After a tremendous career on the Marjory Stoneman Douglas football team as a wide receiver, Hervin Louis had the opportunity to participate in the Florida Athletic Coaches Association North-South Football All-Star Game Wednesday afternoon.

This was the 66th annual game between the best players from North and South Florida. Not only did MSD’s Quentin Short have the chance to coach the South team, but Louis won MVP for his team in their 33-3 loss. Louis recorded a pair of catches for 40 yards.

Despite the loss, Head Coach Quentin Short felt this was another great opportunity to showcase his skills.

“It was a great experience to coach the game, meet coaches and players,” said Coach Short. “He has worked extremely hard the past two years. I am really excited for him.”

Louis, who resides in Parkland, played two seasons on the varsity football team and tallied 228 yards on 18 catches with four touchdowns. As part of the 2020 Eagles’ District Championship, Louis won eight games while playing varsity.

While he has yet to commit to a university, Louis hopes for the opportunity to play football in college; he’ll have no problem after receiving offers from various schools.
