The Broward County Sheriff’s Office in Parkland responded to various incidents between July 15 and July 21, 2025. Below is a detailed account of the incidents and arrests handled by local law enforcement.
Lost Property
A resident reported a lost vehicle tag on July 15 at approximately 2:21 p.m.
Another lost auto tag incident was reported between July 16 at 5:30 p.m. and July 17 at 9:45 a.m.
Information Reports
A parent was turned away at a summer camp check-in at a Parkland school on July 15.
A vehicle window was broken on July 17 to rescue a child accidentally locked inside. The child was unharmed.
On July 18, a resident reported an undelivered online order.
An altercation involving an elderly man who tapped a security guard with a cane was reported but did not result in charges.
Fire rescue responded to a cafeteria sprinkler malfunction at a local school on July 19. No fire was found.
Fraud
On July 15, a resident reported losing $450 after sending money via Zelle for concert tickets that were never delivered.
Between March 10 and July 16, a Parkland resident was defrauded out of $177,939 after being tricked into transferring funds under the belief that her bank accounts were compromised.
Animal Bite
On July 13, a man was bitten on the leg by a neighbor’s 2-year-old boxer that broke through a fence. The man required stitches. Animal control was notified.
Domestic Incidents
On July 16 at 12:06 a.m., a domestic battery incident involving an adult male suspect was reported. No injuries or weapons were involved.
On July 20 at 2:36 a.m., a woman reported her 18-year-old son threw a water bottle at her, hitting her leg.
Aggravated Stalking
On July 18, a woman was arrested for violating an injunction by stalking her ex-husband and daughter. Deputies found her nearby.
Arrests
Majid Khan, 51, was arrested on July 16 for domestic battery (misdemeanor).
Leonard Dumeng, 34, was arrested on July 17 on a warrant for possession of fentanyl (felony).
April Elizabeth Vanderputten, 47, was arrested on July 18 for aggravated stalking and violating an injunction (felony).
Dominic Paul Tardalo, 18, was arrested on July 20 for domestic battery (misdemeanor).
