Parkland has been named the richest small town in Florida, according to a new analysis from GOBankingRates.
With 10,828 households and a population of about 35,799, Parkland residents enjoy a median household income of $200,156 and an average home value of $1,073,143 — figures cited by Travel + Leisure magazine in a recent article prompted by Parkland’s “richest small town” designation.
That economic heft — significantly above state averages — secured the city the top spot among Florida municipalities with fewer than 15,000 households, according to the GOBankingRates analysis.
The analysis factored in data from the U.S. Census American Community Survey, AreaVibes, and Zillow. Multiple data points for each city were weighed.
Following the news of Parkland landing the top spot, Travel + Leisure spotlighted the city in a feature titled “This Is the Richest Small Town in Florida — and It Has a High Livability Ranking.” The magazine portrayed Parkland as a community where wealth, space, and quality of life meet.
Parkland is known for its leafy neighborhoods, family-friendly parks, good schools, and relative proximity to the bigger cities nearby.
Mayor Rich Walker told Parkland Talk he is “thrilled that Parkland has been recognized as the richest small town and our high livability ranking in Florida.
“This honor is a testament to the hard work, innovation, and resilience of our residents, who have built a vibrant city where families thrive,” said Walker. “With our top-rated schools, expansive parks, and commitment to safety and sustainability, Parkland truly embodies the best of Florida living, combining economic prosperity with an unmatched quality of life. We’re proud of this recognition and look forward to continuing to grow as a welcoming, forward-thinking community.”
