One of the key pieces to a pair of Marjory Stoneman Douglas State Championship runs, Cade Raley, has officially committed to Tallahassee State College
“Finally committing feels amazing, it feels like so much weight and pressure is lifted off your shoulders, and you can finally just go out and play without the pressure of trying to do everything perfect for college coaches to see,” Raley said.
Raley started playing baseball when he was about eight, starting with Little League before competing for the Parkland Pokers. Raley called those years some of the best of his life, and now plays travel ball with the Original Florida Pokers over the summer.
He has played two years on varsity and was the starting second baseman as a junior, hitting a home run with eight RBIs while also scoring 20 runs and stealing eight bases.
Raley, who also won a National Championship, calls playing at MSD a privilege and is thankful to be coached by the best coaches and teammates in the country, who have helped him develop as a player.
“It’s not just a team at Douglas, it’s a brotherhood, and each guy has your back no matter what, and we all push each other to be out best,” Raley added.
For college, Raley committed to Tallahassee State College because he loved the area, felt the coaches were amazing, and says he was welcomed right when he set foot on campus.
Still with one more year left of high school baseball, Raley will once again be a key piece as the Eagles look to win a sixth straight State Title. Beyond that, he hopes to continue working on adding weight and strength to develop and become a better baseball player.
