A man entered Riverglades Elementary School in Parkland Monday and confronted a school security officer, triggering a lockdown of the facility, court records show.
Keon Davis, 26, of Fort Lauderdale, walked onto school property at 7400 Parkside Dr. shortly after noon and began arguing with the school’s security monitor, pulling one of her Apple Air Pods from her ear, according to an arrest affidavit.
Parkland Talk is withholding the man’s relationship with the victim to protect her identity since she is the victim of a crime.
“This altercation was seen by school administration, and they thought that Davis had struck [the victim] in the head,” Broward Sheriff’s Office Parkland District deputies wrote in the affidavit. “The school was immediately placed in a ‘lockdown’ status due to Davis’ actions.”
Davis was arrested by responding deputies and booked into the Broward Main Jail on a charge of unlawfully disturbing an educational institution, a misdemeanor.
Records show Davis was released without bond before his next court appearance.
